As an Employment Attorney Consultant, you will work closely with a tight knit and highly functioning team of lawyers committed to providing innovative, legally sound, business solutions and education to our clients in areas such as employment law, human resources, employee benefits, insurance plans, workers compensation, and risk management.

Job Summary: As an Employment Attorney Consultant, you will have the opportunity to advise employers of all sizes on a wide range of interesting and challenging issues; develop and present in-depth training sessions for employees, leaders, and HR; craft handbooks and affirmative action plans; manage individual consulting projects from start to finish; and be an internal subject matter expert and compliance resource for our organizational guiding teams and sales force.

What you’ll do as Employment Attorney Consultant:

  • Provide advice and guidance to clients that is consistent with client cultures and risk tolerances
  • Research and stay on top of legal and best practices developments
  • Review and revise documents, including policies, contracts, forms, and communication pieces
  • Develop and maintain compliance and best practices tools and documents
  • Create and present client-facing training both virtually and in-person
  • Review and draft customized employee handbooks
  • Conduct employment law compliance audits
  • Draft affirmative action plans
  • Draft informative articles on compliance and best practices
  • Manage projects from inception through completion
  • Collaborate with other Employment Attorney Consultants. Support each other and refine department strategies, resources, and practices

What it takes to be an Employment Attorney Consultant:

  • College degree, Juris Doctor (JD) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in the fields of employment, business practices, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to assess and learn organizational roles, responsibilities, and process flows.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals and personalities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a public speaking environment and ability to convey complex information in a simple and organized fashion to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and/or laws impacting business practices and risk management.
  • Strong research skills. Ability to self-educate and stay abreast of legal and best practices developments.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and Adobe. products computers and quickly competent with new technology tools, including full competence with.
