General Description:

The regional sales & marketing manager is responsible for providing the region with necessary resources and to follow specific guidelines as outlined by USI corporate to execute the appropriate marketing capabilities for presentations, RFPs, conferences/seminars/webinars, employee education and regional initiatives as deemed appropriate.


  • Educating employees on best practices, compliance and available resources.

  • Educating and monitoring proper use of USI Graphic Standards.

  • Effectively communicating and implementing USI’s national website deployment strategies at the regional level.

  • Linked In initiatives and other channels to enrich USI’s presence in the marketplace while maintaining compliance with USI social media guidelines.

  • Work with SMS team to deploy drip marketing material and strategies that are in compliance with CAN/Spam requirements.

  • Coordinate and identify speaking opportunities.

  • Assist Leaders and Producers with writing articles (trade publications or on-line media) in coordination with our National Marketing team.

RFP Process Management:

  • Manage and communicate RFP process to SMS team, practice leaders, producers, tech resources, account managers and sales leaders. Stakeholders at each operating company should fully understand the process, timing and available resources.

  • Manage development of RFP database.

  • Conduct Regional RFP training for SMS team on best practices for RFP formatting and content.

Provide services for presentations, sales, and marketing and client materials:

  • Work with sales leaders and producers to improve quality/effectiveness of capabilities presentations content, format and process.

  • Communicate capabilities presentations process updates to producers, account managers and sales leaders.

  • Maintain regional intranet library, including biographies for all SET (Senior Executive Team), SLT (Senior Leadership Team) members, producers and technical resources.

Coordination of regional tradeshow/seminar/webinar and events:

  • Communicate and document regional procedures (reserving booths)

  • Communicate Regional Events Calendar to all employees in the region.

  • Contract review for offsite meeting venues.

  • Ensure specifics are handled by appropriate personnel (facility plans, day-of coordination).

  • Utilize seminar checklist and coordinate on site assistance

  • Assist SMS team with webinar/seminar Click Dimensions invitation process.

  • Support the Host of Regional webinars when needed.

Lead Regional Marketing Education:

  • Support RSL with training and onboarding of new producers

  • When necessary, schedule annual on-site marketing presentations for all employees at each operating company.

  • Conduct Regional training on best practices for WebEx events, scheduling, facilitating, and managing registrations and follow-up.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Undergraduate college degree.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, effective use of CRM systems.

  • Ability to develop strategic marketing ideas; connect dots, related issues, relationships and potential customers.

  • High quality work product and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Mature judgment and work ethic.

  • Comfortable working with sales and executive-level individuals and sensitive materials/information.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritize work load; solutions oriented.

  • Team player, able to work on multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Professional appearance and presentation.

  • Previous marketing, public relations and/or event planning experience required.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing and bending.

Analysis of Physical Demands:

  • Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

  • Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, travel, stand and bend.

  • Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

  • Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires Lifting/Carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
