The EB JR Account Manager will be sitting with our client onsite at Columbia Memorial Hospital (Hudson, NY)

Primary liaison between CMH, USI and all Insurance Carriers and vendors

Conduct New Hire Orientation / reviewing all benefit offerings, with one-on-one meetings with Dr’s and executive staff.

Process and maintain all benefit enrollments/elections, new hire initial notice information, terminations, status changes on-line through carrier and vendor portals for all USI administered benefits. Medical, HRA, Dental, Vision, Life, Vol Life, Vol LTD and offered Aflac products.

  • *Maintain spreadsheets for voluntary Life and LTD lines of coverage.
  • * Track Waivers
 

Provide benefit education to employees and new hires throughout the year regarding eligibility, plan details, changes, etc.

Aid and resolution with benefit/claim questions and concerns.

Maintain all proper benefit documentation to ensure compliance.

  • Enrollment and Waiver Forms
  • SBC’s
  • SPD’s /COC’s
  • SARs

Assist with all necessary benefit mailings.

  • Open Enrollment
  • Creditable Coverage

Process Cobra for terminating employees.

Perform quarterly audits of carriers bills to ensure accuracy of enrollments and premiums due.

Process address changes with all carriers and order ID cards

Assist Sr. Account Manager as needed with reporting, special projects (wellness initiatives, special billing processes, data gathering, etc.)

Maintain and update employee benefit portal (currently HR connection)

Communicate with CMH on all applicable compliance updates and work with Sr. Account Manager and Compliance leader as needed.

Coordinate Open Enrollment with client and carriers for onsite visits.

Monitor ACA stability and administration periods providing written notification to employees of ACA eligibility or lookback periods.

Maintain spreadsheet for 1095 reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Benefits Experience needed
  • High School Graduate. 4 year college degree preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Windows2007, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must currently hold life and disability insurance license (or must obtain it within 4 months following date of employment) and retain license by meeting the continuing education requirements.
  • Ability to meet production demands.
  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.  Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverage’s and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
  • Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships.
  • Promote teamwork by sharing experiences, assisting others when help is needed and maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

  • Expected to further industry education through insurance courses and inform group department of knowledge gained.

  • Good at attention to detail and ability to self-check work.

  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks with both concrete and abstract variables. 
  • Must be comfortable with internet based programs as well as knowledge of Microsoft office products.
