General Description: 

Acts as EPS Department liaison to clients. The CG EPS Relationship Manager consults with clients on complex issues such as plan design, compliance, product developments, special projects, fees, etc.  He/she is responsible for the overall relationship management with the focus on client satisfaction and retention. The CG EPS Relationship Manager will partner with Producers and Recordkeeper Partners to ensure all available services are being utilized for the client. Works with TPA service team and Producers on all aspects of client management.                                                      

Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for EPS client relationships including their satisfaction and loyalty
  • Drive client retention by delivering annual plan health review to decision-makers and initiating proactive client contact and meetings
  • Measure service quality and ensure that USI meets client deliverables on an ongoing basis
  • Effectively work with Producers to implement any product, service or investment fund changes requested by clients
  • Coordinate education campaigns with Recordkeeper Partners for assigned plans to demonstrate value of retirement savings to employees and promote plan health through increasing plan participation, increasing employee deferrals and overall retirement education
  • Participate in the completion of special projects as applicable
  • Work with Producers to perform plan-level revenue and expense reviews, analyze profitability results, review with management, communicate with clients/coordinate appropriate action steps (i.e., ERISA account, etc.) as needed
  • Work with legal department & TPA team on coordination and delivery of annual plan notices & other required notifications
  • Participate in the sales finals process for new business as applicable
  • Review vendor 3/21 or 3/38 fund lineups on a quarterly basis to assist in selection of EPS “best of breed” fund lineups for new sales
  • Utilize RPAG reporting system as research tool for ongoing plan fund line-up reviews
  • Assume the lead role in the establishment of new client relationships and new business implementation for retirement plans, including:

·       Assist Producers with prospective client website demonstrations, EPS capabilities/finalist presentations

·       Manage conversion of assigned new business following department checklists/procedures

·       Lead and actively participate in transition meetings, conference calls, and plan document calls

·       Establish and continually review conversion timetable; monitor progress, working with Producer, TPA Consultant and Recordkeeper Partners to ensure timely completion of all deliverables

·       Coordinate timely preparation and execution of required plan documentation for all parties, including EPS, USI Securities, the Plan’s trustee/custodian, etc.

·       Establish proper client expectations and adjust with client as required

·       Build and maintain a positive team spirit to assist with employee retention

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • State Insurance and Variable Annuity License preferred or willing to obtain.
  • FINRA Series 65 preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Advanced computer skills-knowledge of Windows environment, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services/defined contribution marketplace
  • Understanding of plan design, recordkeeping, and plan year end compliance
  • ASPPA certification a plus
  • Ability to creatively and proactively problem-solve, adhering to all regulatory requirements
  • Ability to stay organized, multi-task, and focused in a busy environment
  • Effective communication skills with clients and co-workers, both verbal and written
  • Personable and credible
  • Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration in a team setting
