Apply nowGeneral Description: As a part of USI’s Technical Resource team, the EB Regional Communications Consultant is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to help employees understand and engage with the benefits programs. This role involves client interaction, project management, and delivering clear, engaging communication through various platforms. The Consultant will partner with HR teams, C-Suite, USI Sales Consultant, and service team members to assess the needs of the client, determine appropriate channels, identify key messaging and use data analytics to track engagement and adjust the strategy accordingly to drive employee education and engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive communication plans for employee benefits programs. Includes life & health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and more.
- Collaborate closely with clients (HR teams, benefits administrators, and C-Suite) to understand their unique needs. Deliver customized communication solutions using USI tools and resources as well as engaging vendors, if needed.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure timely delivery of communication solutions while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Facilitate webinars and workshops. Speak at Symposiums to educate clients and prospects on USI’s Communication practice and effective solutions.
- Use feedback, surveys, and data analytics to assess employee engagement and adjust communication strategies for maximum effectiveness.
- Ensure all communication materials comply with legal and regulatory standards for employee benefits.
- Contribute to new sales initiatives by presenting USI’s Communication practice and solutions. Includes large prospect meetings both virtually and in-person.
- Enhance and maintain current knowledge of emerging trends in employee benefits communication.
- Train, educate, and inform internal service teams on USI’s communication tools and solutions. Includes finding tools, how to deliver and best practices for their use.
- Assist with recommendations, vetting and relationship management of employee benefits communication and engagement related vendors. Build and maintain relationships with these partners to ensure the best quality and service.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in employee benefits communication solutions, emerging trends, and communication and engagement best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits communication, HR consulting, or a related field.
- College degree strongly preferred.
- Position requires maintaining a Life, Accident & Health License.
- Proven project management experience, including leading complex projects and delivering on time.
- Client-facing experience, with strong relationship-building and consultation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey complex benefits information.
- Mindset for tracking and improving communication effectiveness.
- Proficiency in using communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Virtual Presentation Platforms).
- Ability to travel as needed.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.
Analysis of Physical Demands:
- Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.
- Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand, bend, and drive to client appointments.
- Occasionally (1%-33% of time) repetitive foot movements, ability to drive to client appointments, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.
- Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
