EB National Practice Analyst

Apply nowGeneral Description: Help lead the activities of the regional underwriters and analysts by updating and maintaining underwriting tools. Support USI’s sales and retention efforts for employee benefit clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
• Improve and modify underwriting tools based on changing market conditions, client and associate feedback, and the maturation of relevant concepts and ideas.
• Create and manage templates for renewal rate and funding projection and various analyses. Includes market review, claim utilization, rate, and contribution development, and IBNR and lag analyses.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to regional analysts and underwriters. Includes utilization of National Practice tools and answering highly technical, specialized inquiries.
• Provide training to new producers on National Practice and underwriting tools.
• Collaborate with regional team members. Ensure clients’ strategic objectives are articulated and solutions/deliverables align with client goals.
• Support USI’s annual Employee Benefit Benchmarking Survey. Includes developing reporting capabilities to extract and share relevant data.
• Conduct complex analysis in support of regional teams, as needed.
• Keep current on industry and new product information, legislation, technology, and trends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 5 years + of experience as an employee benefits analyst with increasing responsibility required.
• College degree required.
• Must hold a state Life & Disability insurance license.
• Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to conduct complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Visual Basic and Excel.

Salary Range: $80,000- $95,000. This is a bonus-eligible position with a target incentive of 10%
