Employee Benefits Account Manager

Apply nowGeneral Description: Manages Employee Benefits insurance accounts and services as their day-to-day contact.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured anf some self-insured clients.
- Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
- As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings. Educate, advise, and aid clients on all Compliance topics. Including, but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
- Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients.
- Manage the renewal process including the preparation of appropriate contractual changes.
- Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources (e.g. wellness, communications, strategies, pharmacy.
- May be responsible for the marketing and placement of new benefit products.
- Prepare client application for review
- Determine most appropriate carriers
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings
- Make recommendations to clients
- Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities.
- Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
- Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
- Coordinates, manages and attends client meetings both virtually and in person.
- Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes and/or clarifications.
- Resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2-4 years experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace. College degree preferred.
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- Must hold or be willing to earn life and disability insurance license.
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
- Keep informed about industry information, technology and trends.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
