General Description: Serve as an extension of the sales team to deliver Emerson Reid (ER)/Rogers Benefit Group and My Benefit Advisor’s (MBA) value-added services to brokers and clients. Focus is on employee benefits in the marketplace. Work closely with the VP Benefits Counsel and Marketing department to develop broker training and client presentations. Coordinate trainings for internal and external clients. Responsible for meeting with leading brokers and ER/Rogers/MBA partners at the direction of sales leaders in assigned regional territories.


Responsibilities:

  • Act as subject matter expert on employee benefit issues.
  • Create and oversee employee benefit training materials. Includes webinars, seminars, and podcasts for internal and external use.
  • Educate internal staff, brokers, and clients on current trends in the health care industry.
  • Deal directly with internal staff and brokers on various employee benefit issues and work towards resolution of issues.
  • Work with sales leaders and attend meetings with brokers.
  • Participate in pre-sales meetings with Account Executives and other appropriate parties.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to develop tools to improve communication/education of products. Work with Account Executives to deliver these tools to the brokers and their clients.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities and initiatives for program improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 7 years + experience working in group insurance and/or account management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and/or account management.
  • Familiarity with products, services, competitive offerings, market needs, and industry trends.
  • Resourceful, persuasive, and effective leader when dealing with clients and brokers.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and convey technical information to others.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
