Apply nowGeneral Description: This position will provide computer services and support to all USI offices and clients. The primary responsibilities of this position include the management, strategy, and execution of technology within its respective departments.
Responsibilities:
- including the organization of databases, monitoring, and troubleshooting, as well as the assessment and implementation of new technologies.
- Resolution of database integrity issues, performance issues, connectivity issues, and security issues.
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, and other resource contention.
- Handle failed SQL Server Agent jobs, including backups and maintenance jobs.
- Set and maintain database standards.
- see that necessary updates are made.
- Provide technical leadership on database systems and solutions. Additionally, provide individual mentoring and training on databases and tools.
- Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications.
- Recommend and implement improvements.
- Stay up to date on security risks to ensure corporate security.
- See that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in an enterprise setting.
- Strong knowledge of DBCC commands, PowerShell, T-SQL, clustering, database mirroring.
- Proven experience identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions.
- Proficient with of MS SQL Server (SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS)
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile Methodology, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and modern application development workflows.
- Experience in resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, connectivity issues and security issues.
- Azure experience is preferred, both traditional cloud resources and ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Machine Learning Workspace, Container Apps, App Services, API Management, Application Gateway, and Front Door.
- Terraform Cloud or experience with other IAC tools a plus.
- Snowflake DWaaS experience a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and people skills.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including a telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of the job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.
Analysis of Physical Demands:
· Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting or carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/ turning, including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.

Compensation & Benefits Information:
Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
This is a bonus-eligible position.
