General Summary:

This is an experienced analyst position providing administration and analytical support to senior staff while continuing to learn about the design, operations, and regulations governing retirement plans, such as 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. This is a career-track position, eventually leading to a consultant role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect, scrub, analyze, manipulate, and process complex data
  • Perform a variety of calculations, including contributions, distributions, and earnings
  • Prepare government filings such as Forms 1099-R, 5330, 5500 and 8955-SSA
  • Perform nondiscrimination testing
  • Inspects own work and results and compares them with the consultant and client expectations
  • Researches and develops information to support consultants in resolving client issues / questions
  • Evaluates client situations and processes and recommends solutions to consultants
  • Reconcile all work products
  • Prepare client reports and participant statements
  • Attains individual billing plan and realization goals by performing work efficiently and seeking additional projects
  • Communicates effectively with clients and partners to facilitate day to day operations
  • All other duties as assigned

Specific/Individual Core Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of finance and accounting principles
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and in use of required processing software/systems
  • Capable of multi-tasking, problem-solving and meeting deadlines with the highest degree of accuracy
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also exhibiting a strong team approach to managing and developing relationships


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Mathematics, Finance, or related
  • 2+ years of employee benefits or defined contribution experience preferred
  • Demonstrated record of success in academics and/or on the job
