The DC Retirement  Associate is an entry-level role with a career-track potentially leading to a Consultant role. The DC Retirement  Associate supports senior staff in providing administration and consulting services while learning about the design, operations, and regulations governing defined contribution plans.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day 

·      Day-to-day communication with clients and their employees regarding their retirement accounts

·       All aspects of daily plan administration, including:

·       Checking retirement plan transaction for accuracy and compliance

·       Preparation of plan statement and reports

·       Reviewing eligibility for participation in plan, loans, and distributions

·   Ensuring the timely processing of payroll contributions, participant terminations, and loan distributions

·       Assisting plan auditors with reconciliation of plan financial transactions

·       Performing required non-discrimination tests

·       Providing support on special projects as needed.


What you need to succeed at USI:

 At a minimum, you’ll need:

·       Bachelor’s Degree (mathematics, economics, finance, business, or computer science preferred)

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Intermediate MS Office Skills, particularly in MS Excel (Formulas, V-Look-ups)

·       Quantitative skills (collecting, scrubbing, analyzing data) 

·       Analytical skills with emphasis on problem solving 


It would be great if you also have:

·       ASPPA, QPA, or QKA designation

·       2 years’ experience

·       Basic knowledge of IRS and DOL rules & regulations pertaining to the administration of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
