General Description:  The Compensation Analyst assists with the development, implementation, and administration of USI’s compensation programs, policies.


  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for the organization. 
  • Assesses job duties to ensure appropriate FLSA classification.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey and other market data to determine compensation ranges for each position. Responds to market-based compensation surveys. 
  • Evaluates market compensation data to assess results and market trends. Guides managers in making data-supported individual and department compensation decisions.
  • Reviews and processes off-cycle market adjustment requests as necessary. 
  • Participates in the annual salary planning process and supports management of company’s incentive bonus programs.
  • Assists in administering the company’s deferred compensation and internal equity programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BA/BS Degree required; concentration in Business Admin or HR preferred.
  • 3+ years compensation experience required. Experience with Ultimate Software and/or HRSoft preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced understanding of compensation concepts, design and regulations.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines effectively. 
  • Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of broader Human Resources issues.
  • Highly motivated, detail-focused and committed to maintaining the integrity of the USI compensation program.
