Corporate Accounting Analyst

Apply nowGeneral Description: Analyze payroll transaction adjustments or errors and provide support for transactions. Ensure all reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis. Work closely with Payroll, Corporate Accounting, and Internal Audit teams.
Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate understanding of payroll process and interface with the company’s HRIS and SAP general ledger (GL).
· Provide support to the accounting team for all activity processed in the payroll bank account. Includes providing data on the source and reasons for transactions.
· Complete monthly reconciliation of accounts. Includes payroll, direct deposits, live checks, garnishment, and taxes.
· Provide feedback to payroll team on open or returned employee wires and garnishments. Maintain action plan to clear any open items.
· Work with payroll team to ensure transactions requiring corrections or adjustments are completed.
· Create an escalation plan for any items uncleared after 60 days. Maintain an action log.
· Coordinate with the Treasury team to ensure cancelled checks are appropriately handled.
· Complete reconciliation process for outstanding checks. Includes working with Treasury and Payroll to resolve outstanding payroll checks that are aged past 30 days.
· Review and identify any tax differences between the payroll GL and the HRIS system. Document and create a resolution plan for open items.
· Document exception review processes and create desk procedures and narrative write up.
· Review 401(k) funding exceptions on the bi-weekly funding report. Work with Payroll and 401(k) team to resolve any issues.
· Assist with internal audit and external auditor requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· 1-3 years of experience with payroll processing, accounting, or finance.
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
· Previous payroll and systems experience preferred. Includes UltiPro/UKG and SAP.
· Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills required.
· Detail oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
· Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
· Ability to work with all levels of the organization to maximize problem solving and results.
