General Description:  The Security Manager is responsible for the physical security of USI employees and visitors for over 150 offices around the country. The Security Manger will work with managers, leaders and employees on employee safety with respect to protocols for various risks such as workplace violence and high risk terminations.

Responsibilities:

·       Oversees the security for over 150 USI offices across the country.

·       Provides input to strategic decisions such as construction design and camera placement.

·       Develops and implements policies to ensure the physical safety of all employees and visitors.

·       Works with law enforcement and other officials as needed.

·       Serve as the subject matter expert for security throughout the Company.

·       Liaise with appropriate law enforcement, intelligence, and threat assessment agencies and companies, to identify, quantify, and assess security threats to the company in order to provide proactive advice regarding suitable mitigation strategies and measures.

·       Engage with security providers, vendors, and services and identify areas to optimize efficiency and minimize expenditures.

·       Develop security risk assessments to identify risks and gaps and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. Provide regular security briefings to staff and provide recommendations to local management operating in areas of elevated security risk.

·       Conduct, support, and/or assist investigations into security incidents within the company.

·       Train employees on security measures and protocols.

  • Conducts, supervises and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of regulations, policies and procedures; develops, implements and manages security training.

·       The individual may be required to respond to company emergency situations, which may include the requirement to travel on short notice.

  • Performs audits of security related performance and conducts physical surveys of premise security, including security equipment condition.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or closely related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years combination experience in law enforcement (or related government/military service) and/or emergency management.
  • Corporate security and investigations experience required; Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or other certifications preferred.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, physical security, security systems and facility design skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with individuals at various levels within the USI to include senior business leaders.
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must have excellent management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strategic business acumen, confidence and capability in addressing sensitive and complicated ethical conduct/compliance and personnel-related matters.
  • Must have ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Must be objective and capable of making difficult decisions and relaying the message to staff in a professional manner.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing security risks and initiatives in a dynamic environment and across business lines and/or groups.
  • Must be able to develop and nurture concepts into pragmatic, efficient, and effective solutions.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
