General Description:

Responsible for development, presentation and maintenance of producer onboarding and success training.  Focus will include training and testing of insurance technical knowledge, USI Omni Solutions knowledge, sales skills development.

Responsibilities:

  • Will function as part of a national P&C team developing curriculum and testing and reporting.  The position will include live training but will be as focused on creating a successful program deployed through national and field resources. 
  • Develop and present various training documents and tools (e.g. user guides, recorded presentations, power point) in support of  P&C sales
  • Develop and facilitate 3 year training calendar to  create and execute:  new hire classes every 6 months; monthly training schedule ( for both technical and message training/ reinforcement; assessment tools; etc. .
  • Effectively uses technology to facilitate on demand training/testing with aggregate reporting
  • Continually seeks new and creative ways to deliver quality hands on training to all Benefits employees as well as recommending various methods to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Present training on appropriate webinars. ( suggest we combine this in 3 year calendar responsibility)
  • Facilitate and communicate with subject matter experts (SME) for areas of training where required to produce the assigned tools, documents and webinars. ( suggest we combine this in 3 year calendar responsibility)
  • Communicate with SME and Managers to develop Train-the-Trainer processes.
  • Maintain updated training materials on the USI Intranet for employee reference. RKM note – to be clear – the are responsible for maintaining the learning components of Omni as well as intranet
  • Present training at a regional, operating company or acquisition level as assigned by manager in coordination with regional technical resources and vertical leaders –travel will be required).
  • Create and facilitate  in regular National PC Trainer meetings and conference calls.
  • Participate, help create content,  and help facilitate annual vertical meetings
  • Prepare/maintain regular project status tracking and updates integrated with national training team reporting evidencing that knowledge is being effectively transferred  
  • Expected to further industry knowledge through courses with intent to pursue an industry designation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient with computers and quickly competent with new technology tools. Specifically, must have full competence with MS Office Suite products and Adobe products.  Strong Power Point skills
  • Strong facilitation and verbal skills
  • Experience with   USI P&C product suite preferred but not required (e.g Loss Forecaster/ Mod Master/ Sagitta/Worksmart).
  • 5-10  years in P&C required  years experience in P&C.
  • Core P&C technical knowledge with strong property, general liability and workers compensation coverage knowledge preferred ( maybe required)  .
  • College Degree.
  • Must portray strong trainer leadership skills – addressing the audience, describing nature of training, goals, step by step instructions and recap.
  • Ability to effectively initiate training and set up training function.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receives and interprets complex information, and responds appropriately.
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication, and interpret abstract information.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
  • Must be comfortable with internet based programs as well as intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products. Knowledge of Benefit Point/Sagitta /WorkSmart preferred, but not required.
  • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate production of tools and materials.
  • Able to quickly asses and learn organizational roles, responsibilities and process flows.
  • Maintain an effective relationship with internal clients, team members and vendors.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
