General Description:


Highly technical Regional Casualty Analyst who assists in account placement and service. Assist colleagues on complex matters such as comparative policy wording analysis, loss responsive programs, captive feasibility, collateral negotiations and benchmarking program cost components.  Utilize USI software to perform analytical functions.


 


Responsibilities:


 


  • P&C Technical – review insurance programs (coverage, limits, deductibles, retentions, classifications, et al), recommend improvements, analyze data, and negotiate policy terms and conditions.

  • Develops business relationships with retail producers and markets

  • Negotiates with underwriter regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and renewal accounts

  • Determining and communicate financial impact

  • Create and Explain TCOR to clients

  • Create and explain output for ModMaster/Loss Forecaster/Advisen Benchmarking

  • Deep understanding of our claim and loss control capabilities

  • Development of new products/ideas/processes

  • Prepares and interpret casualty analytics

  • Complete Analytical reports and interpretation

  • Determine price reports

  • Promote and enhance the reputation of USI with carriers and prospects

  • Mentor and Coach Direct Reports

  • Carrier Relations – build and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies such that the company gains an advantage over other competitors in the market.


  • External Relations – Promote and enhance the overall reputation of USI with carriers and prospects.

Knowledge, Skills, qualities and Abilities:


  • Ability to compose clear, concise, grammatically correct letters.

  • Ability to generate your own correspondence with the use of agency automation software.


  • A professional phone manner.


  • Must be detail oriented.


  • Ability to prioritize, manage and process workflow in a timely manner.


  • A valid state insurance License must be maintained.

  • Strong knowledge of property/casualty underwriting, coverage’s and conditions.

  • 2-3 years of experience plus of insurance underwriting/ technical experience in the segment, i.e. commercial lines property, commercial lines casualty.

  • Willingness to commit to a continuing education program and maintain a professional designation (CISR, CIC, CPCU, ARM, etc.)

  • Obtain of the agency automation system (Sagitta) as well as third party word processing, spread sheet and presentation systems (Microsoft Excel and Word).

  • Captive Knowledge

  • Proficient use of Imageright


  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

     


Physical Demands:


Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins.  Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, Computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine.  Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing and bending.


 


Analysis of Physical Demands:


  • Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

  • Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand and bend.

  • Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

  • Rarely  (< than 1 hour per week) work performed  requires Lifting/Carrying  items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling  items that range from 10-50lbs,  twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head , kneeling or squatting.
