Summary:

As member of the “Client Services Team” this person will:

 

·         Serve as a dedicated multi-line Property and Casualty claim resource for assigned book of stewardship level clients in a designated OpCo to promote account growth and retention.

·         Assist assigned P&C clients with claim needs specific to an actual claim or occurrence that may give rise to a claim.

·         Conduct analysis of language contained in coverage forms and various legal contracts related to specified claims of complex nature.  

·         Ability to focus on risk transfer, reserve evaluation and policy coverage to ensure the broadest scope of coverage for our clients while reducing exposures as possible.

·         Work with account management team to develop “claim reporting guidelines”, initiate special account claim handling instructions with the carrier for assigned stewardship accounts.

·        Advocate on behalf of assigned clients and their carriers on  existing claims if coverage or service questions and disputes arise.

·          Facilitate timely claim resolution and appropriate claim outcomes through routine written, telephonic or (as appropriate) in-person follow up meetings with clients and adjusters. 

·         Participate in Prospect meetings with producers as appropriate to support growth goal of the region when the projected revenues are 25K or greater.

·         Participate in internal strategic renewal and stewardship planning meetings associated with assigned accounts.

·         Coordinate resources that will support assigned client’s implementation of best claim management practices (ie. carrier or USI loss control, notify of available seminars and training resources).

·         Coordinate and conduct claim reviews for clients (prepare claim reports through use of word, excel and carrier website resources if the carrier does not prepare them) on open claims with incurred values of 25K or greater.

·         Maintain records and document all client/carrier communication in USI claim files in accordance with prescribed standards and protocols.

·         Provide feedback on TPA’s for account managers/producers when they are vetting TPA’s for client

·         Audit carrier or TPA claims if service/management concerns surface.

·         Attend client meetings with producers (as appropriate) to strengthen relationships and support growth and retention goals.

·         Participate in and attend ongoing “claim specific” continuing education opportunities.

·         Support other OPCO claim team members during vacations and CAT periods.

·         Prepare track and deliver claim service calendar for all assigned clients for producers renewal meeting with client.

·         Complete Large Loss notice to USI internal team per established guidelines

·         Additional duties as requested.

 

 

 

 

 Job Qualifications:

 

·         College degree or Minimum of 10 years commercial experience (5 – 7 Carrier/5-10 Broker/Agency) working with commercial line claims.

·         Heavy concentration on Casualty Claims with an emphasis on Construction related exposures, Labor Law, Builders Risk, OCIPS and CCIPS.  Knowledge of multi line coverage preferred. 

·         Possesses recognized expertise in one or more claim disciplines.

·         Above average customer service skills and the ability to deal professionally with people in difficult situations.

·         Intuitive and able to proactively identify and resolve problems.

·         Willingness to continue industry related education is essential.

·         Excellent written and verbal skills required

  • Highly effective organization skills
  • High level of competence with regard to claim handling on most all lines of claims exposure
  • Requires minimal to no assistance on most claim scenarios utilizing resources

·         Possesses high degree of self-discipline and motivation and initiative

·         Ability to work with high volume, minimum instruction and direction

·         Claim focused designation such as. AIC, SCLA, LPCS or CPCU preferred.

 

 Physical Demands:

 Work is performed in a climate controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins.  Employees operate office equipment including; telephone - headset, Computer,   computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner and mail machine.  Physical tasks of job include; walking, sitting, standing, bending and fingering.

Analysis of Physical Demands:

·         Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as fingering, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

·         Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand and bend.

·         Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

  • ·         Rarely  (< than 1 hour per week) work performed  requires Lifting/Carrying  items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling  items that range from 10-50lbs,  twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head , kneeling or squatting.
