General Description:  Regional EPS (Management Liability/Cyber) claims lead Advocate. Establishes strategies to a) provide EPS-specific claims services (reporting, monitoring, advocating) in a results-oriented and client team-focused manner, and b) educate and coordinate with non-EPS claims professionals in order to facilitate the timely reporting and tracking of EPS claims. This role includes directly providing claims services to our largest and most complex EPS clients.   

Responsibilities:

  • Complex Claims: (D&O, EPL, Cyber, Fiduciary Liability, E&O and others)
  • Oversee regional complex EPS claims to aid our clients and to manage the claim process with them.
  • Work effectively with carriers to understand broker/client position and challenge them on incorrect or aggressive policy interpretations.
  • Communicate with clients’ counsel to resolve any issues discovered.
  • Conduct claim reviews in conjunction with client service plan.
  • Monitor and measure financial impact of USI reviews and communicate results to client.
  • Internal education
    • Coordinate with National and Regional EPS product leaders to develop continuing educational training for fellow regional employees.
    • Contribute insights and client solutions in USI huddle meetings.
  • Other projects/tasks as assigned
  • On occasion assist USI sales team in client meetings.
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • JD preferred.
  • 5+ years in an EPS claim role for a commercial lines agency/broker or insurance company required.
  • Property & Casualty license preferred.
  • Ability to deeply understand multiple EPS lines of coverage/ technical terms and conditions.

·       Ability to work with proficiency and accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in concert with regional claims team and EPS team.

·       Detail oriented, organized, responsive and able to perform with high standards of quality.

·       Be a creative thinker.

·       Demonstrated ability to lead “C-suite level” client / prospect presentations.

·       Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

·       Superior customer service skills.

·       Ability to make recommendations based on regulations while contemplating new or emergent legislation/regulation and its impact on clients.

·       Must be comfortable with internet-based programs, internet marketing (i.e., social media) as well as strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook. 

·       Proficient with Microsoft Suite of products.

Physical Demands:

When in the office, work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone/headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, and bending. Travel to clients and prospects is required.

Analysis of Physical Demands:

·       Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.

·       Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand, and bend.

·       Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.

·       Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/ turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling, or squatting.
