General Description: 

The USI System Administrator position is an internal client-facing position responsible for on-site IT support for assigned offices for providing phone support to USI staff nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities:

·         Provide executive support in USI’s Corporate office in Valhalla, NY

·         Provide system administration support for Windows and Citrix server systems and related peripherals including printers, scanners, network and other systems hardware software

·         Establish operating procedures and creates technical documentation for other technical support personnel and staff

·         Provide second level troubleshooting for Enterprise Help Desk issues

·         Provide technical support for escalated Service Desk issues

·         Mentor and provides senior level technical assistance to IT Support Staff

·         Maintain up-to-date documentation of the messaging environment and supporting systems management processes and tools

·         Creation and maintenance of Active Directory accounts and groups

·         Participate in the planning and execution related to acquisitions, mergers, migrations and conversions.  Knowledge of Network hardware/configuration/installation

·         Lead on-site IT staff during the execution of a move or acquisition.

·         Run training classes for employees on USI IT Systems and Processes

·         Consult with local office management with regards to USI IT issues and projects.

·         Work with local cabling vendors and building management on IT upgrades

·         Plan and design network cabling infrastructure for new office build outs

·         Design conference room solutions that will be compatible with USI Standards

·         Provide on site support for offsite Executive Meetings

·         Analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is a plus or equivalent work experience.

·         3-5 years experience with messaging technologies and with Citrix administration

·         Experience with Service-Now and Ticket Queue coordination and interaction with our helpdesk

·         20% - 30% Travel required to USI Locations

·         Must be available to work a flexible schedule with minimal notice, including evenings and weekends

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·         Project management experience is preferred

·         Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel

·         Ability to effectively communicate to management, business personnel and peers concerning IT issues

·         Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer software and hardware systems and related technologies.

·         Motivated and capable of working independently and with strong verbal and written skills

·         Ability to install, configure, and maintain computer desktops, laptops, thin clients, and/or related hardware and software

·         Ability to manage system management utilities and software

·         Ability to work on multiple projects

·         Strong problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in a timely and accurate fashion

·         Demonstrated ability to document all aspects of production systems including operational practices

·         Experience supporting Active Directory, Windows 2008-2016 server, and Citrix

·         Microsoft Windows/Exchange certification strongly desired

·         Thorough understanding of SMTP, mail routing, TCP/IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, VLAN, and IP subnetting.
