USI, a top Insurance Brokerage firm, is seeking a creative, talented, highly analytical and data focused individual to join the IT team. The business/financial systems analyst will coordinate with the Emerson Reid business, an employee benefits wholesaler with the mission of differentiating brokers from the competition with new and innovative programs while providing invaluable tools, knowledge, and support on initiatives to improve existing technology solutions and streamline processes to drive efficiencies.  

 

This position will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of financial and insurance software and ensures that technology solutions are meeting the organization’s needs in a manner consistent with best practices used throughout the company to maintain system and data integrity.  Performs a variety of complex tasks supporting .net custom applications and an Insurance Distribution platform and may lead and direct the work of others. 

Responsibilities (include but not exclusive to the following): 

·       Provide a key point of contact for business units into IT and acts as a conduit between the two organizations

·       Conducts preliminary investigation for project requests

·       Assist with IT Governance and prioritization

·       Lead and facilitate business requirements gathering and process modeling

·       Coordinate and develop requirements with technical resources including gap analysis and process flows

·       Complete business cases in support of projects and related initiatives

·       Develop and implement project plans using best practice project management methodologies

·       Hold project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders

·       Define and deliver strategic initiatives and projects

·       Assist with troubleshooting problems, resolving system issues, and improving overall data quality

·       Work with external partners on IT related issues

·       Lead the design, documentation and execution of test plans and test cases

·       Coordinate user acceptance testing and track and resolve identified issues

·       Provide operational support for systems as necessary

·       May act as a project manager on small projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems preferred

·       Minimum of 3 years demonstrated Business Analyst experience including systems projects and/or business process improvement

·       Proven experience interacting with key business stakeholders

·       Strong written and verbal communication, include technical writing skills

·       Ability to communicate effectively with business users, team members and management

·       Strong organizational skills with attention to details

·       Must be a self-starter

·       Highly motivated

·       Flexibility and willingness to handle multiple requests simultaneously

·       Understanding of financial systems/concepts

·       Understanding of systems engineering concepts/in house developed applications

·       Ability to conduct cost benefit analysis and business case development

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

·       Broad understanding of insurance processes and workflows a plus

·       Understanding of Insurance wholesale business a plus

·       Willingness to travel domestically 10-20%
