General Description: 

The Business Systems Analyst will provide high quality analysis of data including data mapping, data extraction, and data quality control. Business Analyst will assist the team in systems conversions and related projects through analysis of current insurance systems, as well as other IT assignments. The Business Systems Analyst will also have the opportunity to drive change by developing and implementing processes that support acquisition integration activity.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage acquisition system integration projects, including

o   Develop and maintain project plan with dates and deliverables.

o   Review and manage plan and issues with stakeholders

·         Develop and maintain strategic relationships with other departments including operations, finance, and infrastructure.

·         Coordinate resource scheduling with internal departments and external vendors.

·         Analyzes pre and post conversion data and provides recommendations to optimize post conversion outcome.

·         Manipulate data in Excel, and other software, comparing codes and determining appropriate recommendations for field users/offices.

·         Conduct analysis by qualitatively analyzing data/information and then mapping according to Enterprise standards.

·         Develop/run queries to extract data/information from various insurance applications and systems.

·         Prepare data for test phases and evaluate pre and post conversion data continuity.

·         Develop rapport with regional, operational leaders to facilitate change management.

·         Uses the information gathered to develop standard, repeatable and documented processes and reporting.

·         Offer solutions and alternatives for issue resolution.

·         Perform special projects as requested by Manager.

·         Works with other departments to coordinate interdepartmental activities and projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in technical or business discipline preferred.

·         Familiarity with Agency Software Systems a plus.

·         Demonstrated expertise with MS Office Suite, with exceptional MS Excel skills.

·         Experience with MS Project a plus.

·         Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply standard policies, procedures and other established guidelines.

·         Insurance industry experience and/or P&C Insurance licensing a plus.

·         Ability to test, review, and analyze data between systems.

·         Ability to develop and adhere to project timelines and to work under deadlines.

·         Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Effective analytical/problem solving and research skills; effective communication skills.

·         Occasional travel of 10-15% may be required to USI business offices.
