General Description:

The Associate Counsel will partner with in-house litigation counsel in managing employment related litigation, including assisting with managing outside counsel, case management and case strategy.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work on matters involving enforcement of restrictive covenants including but not limited to:
    • Review and draft cease and desist letters.
    • Advise internal clients on the collection of evidence with respect to violations.
    • Review internal and external communications for said violations.
    • Manage outside counsel in seeking immediate injunctive relief and damages.
  • Partner with in-house employment counsel in drafting employment contracts and employment related agreements.
  • Provide advice to the Company’s HR professionals and business leaders on compliance and other employment related legal issues.
  • Work closely with the Company’s HR professionals to develop best practices and limit risk on employment related matters, including employee recruitment, employee relations, employee investigations, employee leaves, and reductions in force.
  • Work with in-house employment counsel on training, compliance and internal policy matters.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         JD with 3-6 years of law firm or corporate legal experience

·         Employment law; EPL, non-compete and trade secret experience required

·         Employment contract drafting experience is highly preferred

·         Litigation Experience in employment practice matters is highly preferred

·         Strong ability to build collaborative relationships with HR and business leaders

·         Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel required

·         Exceptionally strong analytical ability, communication skills, and work-ethic
