General Description: 

The Associate Account Manager will provide internal and external customer service to retirement plan clients, plan consultants, and account managers, with the goal of client retention. The Associate Account Manager will work in coordination with the operations coordinator and in conjunction with the plan consultants and account managers assisting with pre-meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-up.


Responsibilities:

  • Produce and procure an average of 20 Fiduciary Oversight Report (FOR) per month in Investment Metrics by coordinating plan and investment data between client’s recordkeeper and Investment Metrics on a semi-annual to quarterly basis for the 300+ clients
  • Interpret and analyze results of the FOR report and be prepared to provide commentary and possible action with the plan consultants and account managers
  • Attend bi-weekly investment consultant calls with the team to understand manager updates, investment metric changes, and any research updates
  • Responsible for understanding and using Investment Metrics to include running reports, publishing reports and the ability to troubleshoot within the program.
  • Responsible for generating investment alternatives and managed account sections to assist plan consultant and account manager with possible investment replacements
  • Work in consultation with the plan consultants and account managers to facilitate investment changes by recording the changes in the Trade Blotter file and updating the replacement and additions in Investment Metrics.
  • Coordinate client review documentation in CRM, client files, fiduciary briefcase
  • Work in consultation with the plan consultants and account managers to prepare client service plan, stewardship report, agenda, and meeting summary
  • Work in consultation with the account managers and plan consultants to ensure that we meet client deliverables as outlined in the service agreement
  • Assist plan consultants and account manager by reviewing progress against the client service plan and Investment Advisory Agreement
  • With limited supervision, create fee benchmarking report by coordinating plan data, including plan assets, recordkeeping fees, advisory fees, and investment expense utilizing the third-party benchmarking software
  • Coordinate proprietary plan fee benchmarking to accompany third-party benchmarking analysis
  • Interpret and analyze results of the fee benchmarking report and provide commentary and possible action with the plan consultants and account managers
  • Under limited supervision from the plan consultant and account manager, create the RFP and Provider Search by coordinating plan data, plan assets, recordkeeping fees, and investment expense
  • Work with bidding recordkeepers to provide a recordkeeping and service proposal as part of the RFP and Provider Search Process
  • Interpret and analyze results of the RFP and Provider Search and be prepared to provide commentary and possible action with the plan consultants and account managers
  • Participate and attend client meetings and be responsible for the follow-up workflow and client commitments, including investment and fee changes, coordinating committee meetings, and coordinating employee education.
  • Participate in cross functional teams between IAS, DCCG, and Operations and assist in the alignment of best practices between the acquisition team, IAS, and within DCCG
  • Participate in transition meetings for new clients and recordkeeper conversion with existing clients and lead the team with coordinating documents and important dates.
  • Facilitate the coordination of all recordkeeper documents including all document changes, recordkeeping paperwork changes, and USI advisory contract modifications
  • Act as the primary resource for both the plan consultant and client to assist with service issues and become the point of contact 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance or related field

·        2+ years in financial services or relevant defined contribution experience

·        FINRA licensing preferred or the ability to get licensed within 6 months of start date

·        Knowledge of the design, operation, and regulations governing defined contribution plans, including 401(k), ESOP, 403(b), and 457

·        Time management and organizational skills

·        Analytical skills with an emphasis on problem-solving

·        Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and industry scorecard software/programs

·        Ability to perform detailed work accurately

·        Verbal and written communication skills

·        Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration in a team setting

·        Ability to work a fast-paced environment while handling multiple competing requests
