Apply nowGeneral description: Process applications for, changes to, reinstatement of, and cancellation of insurance policies. Review insurance applications to ensure that all questions have been answered, compile data on insurance policy changes, change policy records to conform to insured party's specifications, compile data on lapsed insurance policies to issue reinstatements according to underwriter discretion, cancel insurance policies as instructed, and verify the accuracy of insurance company records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Process, assemble and record new and renewal insurance policies.
- Book premium, activate and deliver policies.
- Communicate with stakeholders to obtain information or inform them about account status or changes.
- Organize and work with detailed office records, maintaining files for each policyholder, including policies that are to be reinstated or cancelled.
- Review and verify data, such as name, address, attorney roster for insurance applications and policies.
- Modify, update, and process existing policies to reflect any change.
- Enter data into computer for use in preparing documents and adjusting accounts.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Complete all work assignments in accordance with written and verbal procedures.
- Meet all qualitative and quantitative standards established to meet or exceed individual and department goals.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Degree or G.E.D. is required.
- Prior administrative office experience in a professional environment is preferred.
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Math Ability: Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word; Excel; and Outlook.
