General Descriptions:

Responsible for independent and proactive day-to-day account management of moderately complex commercial property and casualty accounts which includes new and renewal marketing, handling client questions and requests, and coverage review in support of Program Managers and Account Executives.    


·         Works at a strategic level to develop and retain consultative, partnership relationships with customers/prospects. 

·         Develops, implements, and monitors comprehensive customer service plans that reflect the customer's business and risk management goals. 

·         Responsible for marketing, preparing coverage/product recommendations, and discussing renewals with customers. 

  • Prepare proposals and summaries of insurance, as needed.

·         Manage or direct client accounts/relationships to ensure retention, growth of book of business, and assure customer needs are met. 

·         Provide technical support to Program Managers or Account Executives, specifically in analyzing client needs, coverage forms, and quotations.

·         Handle all aspects of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance.  Occasional outside service visits, to the client, may be required.

·         Respond to Underwriters questions in a timely and professional manner.

·         Respond to client requests for information, documents, and general insurance inquiries. 

·         Adhere to Commercial Lines Best Practices – including written confirmation of new and renewal binding, evidence of coverage, changes to coverage and other related items.

·         Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management and document management systems.

·         Identify exposure to loss and recommend appropriate coverages.

·         May provide work direction to less experienced staff.

·         Perform other job duties as assigned and participate in special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         5+ years of insurance experience 

·         High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required

·          Proficient in MS Office suite of products

·          Experience managing moderately complex commercial property and casualty accounts 

  • Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and prospects

·         Experience effectively marketing to carriers and customers 

·         Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 

·         Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions 

·         Solid problem-solving skills 

·         Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels; where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important 

  • Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.
