Apply nowUSI Insurance Services is hiring a Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager for our team in Omaha, Nebraska.
Our team is currently working a hybrid schedule with three days in the office each week during 4th quarter. This will change to two days in the office each week in the new year.
General Description: Manages Employee Benefits insurance accounts and services as their day-to-day contact.
- Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured and self-funded clients but may include some self-insured clients
- Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers
- As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings. Educate, advise and aid clients on all Compliance topics. Including, but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform
- Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients
- Manage the renewal process including the preparation of appropriate contractual changes
- Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources (e.g. wellness, communications, strategies, pharmacy)
- May be responsible for the marketing and placement of new benefit products
- Prepare client application for review
- Determine most appropriate carriers
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings
- Make recommendations to clients
- Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities
- Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts
- Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans
- Coordinates, manages and attends client meetings both virtually and in person
- Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes and/or clarifications
- Resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2-4 years’ experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace
- Self-funded experience required
- College degree preferred
- Prior customer service experience is preferred
- Must hold or be willing to earn an insurance license
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction
- Keep informed about industry information, technology and trends
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
