Apply nowGeneral Description: Responsible for managing the Carrier Payable and Vendor Payable departments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance with USI’s Advance policy to ensure any advances are properly authorized by the required employees.
- Ensure accurate and timely disbursement of funds due to carriers, intermediaries, clients, P-card purchases, and vendors.
- Calculate Carrier Debit Reserve for retail offices on a quarterly basis and follow up on any aged receivables due from the carriers.
- Manage Vendor Payable department through VP Supervisor to ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, return of client premiums, and processing of P-Card payments.
- Manages team performance through monthly scorecard calculations and quarterly reviews.
- Conducts monthly Departmental and Manager meetings to ensure department goals are met and for timely problem resolution.
- Oversees training on AP procedures for new acquisitions on-site and semi-annually via webex for all retail offices.
- Hire and oversee training of new employees on company payables or vendor payable procedures and policies.
- Acts as an expert resource for regions on company payables matters.
- Assist Corp AC CFO with acquisition transitions.
- Other projects and analysis as requested by NAC CFO or Corporate Finance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· College Graduate with Degree in Accounting or Finance.
· 6-8 years of accounting experience required; 3 years at a managerial level required, 3-4 years of Insurance AP experience preferred.
· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of company and vendor payables policies and procedures.
· Knowledge of general ledger accounting; SAP, Concur and Sagitta experience a plus.
· MS Office and Excel proficiency required.
· Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry experience.
· Strong work ethic with a defined sense of urgency.
· Organized self-starter that works well in a team environment.
· Strong attention to detail and retention of pertinent information.
